My dip stick is reading 9 inches of oil?
im pulling my hair out here. i just finished my b20vtec setup.
The dip stick reads like i have oil up to the opening of the dip stick. im also getting chatter from my valve train like its starving for oil.
I did the ls vtec just like c-speedracing.com has it on their website.
any thoughts before i ruin my shiz.
thanks for the help.

you put 4 and 1/4 quarts of oil, right?
no oil is leaking?
2ltrtodd is probably right...turn your car off for awhile and then check back after the oil has settled.
do you have an aftermarket valvetrain?

you didnt do something right.
most likely, you have a massive headgasket problem. There is prob coolant mixing with the oil which causes it to READ HIGH because you have water/antfrieeze in the oil pan.
let the car run for awhile an see if it overheats an idle, im willing to bet it will lol.
but if you have that much showing on the dipstick, and you only put 4qts in, it can only be SOME OTHER TYPE OF FLUID, and the only thing it can be is COOLANT/WATER

maybe you never drained the oil first and put in an additional 4qts? LOL</TD></TR></TABLE>

pull the valve cover see if it looks milky. change the oil then pull the oil pan look to see if the inside of the pan is milky. if it is coolant that cant be good on the bearings
thanks guys. i covered my ***.
I checked and drained the pan. no coolant. turns out the b20 block had a different dip st ick shaft on the block.
the chatter noise was a b20 crank gear instead of an itr crank gear where it has a built in washer. It caused the timing belt to not be lined up quite right.
