F2 or FZR 600 as first bike.
Out of these three options, which is a better first bike (they are cheaper than the ninja 500's in so cal).
1997 FZR 600.
-dry weight is a little less than 400lbs and capable of 1/4 in the high 11s (holding me back from buying it).
- the one im looking at looks clean and is willing to take 1200 cash. Only problem is 2nd gear pops out (he says to skip it that gear) and its 80 miles away.
1991 CBR 600 F2
- 14.7K miles
Yoshimura slip-on
Dynojet Carb Kit
Vance & Hines Timing Advance Kit
K&N Air Filter
Steel Braided Brake Lines
95% New Ferodo brake Pads
90% New Tires
95% New Chain and Sprockets
Smoked Taller Windscreen
Tank Bra
Reverse (GP Style) Shifting
Can someone explain to me reverse shifting?
He's willing to take 2200 cash (maybe I can talk him down to 2100). Located 20 miles away.
So bottom line is: Newer bike for almost half the cost, or an older bike more expensive bike that seems to be clean.
I promise to post pictures once i buy it.
I know you guys are tired of these threads from me
SORRY. <3 you all

And Reverse shifting is 1 up, 5 down. Some people like it better.

Reverse-shift pattern is easy to put back to stock on the F2. It takes one bolt, you flip the shifter arm around, retighten the bolt, and done.
I'd go with the F2.
Don't forget to budget for gear and insurance. MSF?

More reliable? Whats wrong with the FZR? What kind of parts are you going to get for the f2 that you aren't going to find for the FZR? If you are good with tools second gear could be fixed for a few hundred bucks.
I would personally go with whichever one looks cleaner and runs better.

To be more specific, it prevents you from having to reach underneath the shifter to upshift while leaned over in a turn...in case you need to reach another gear. In a right turn, this isn't so bad, but for a left, with already limited clearance, trying to reach under the shifter, or worse, having your foot caught underneath anticipating a shift, can cause a traffic.
