She died on me today!!!
OK so i got done putting the little things back together, i went out on a test drive, everything ran smooth as could be. But after driving about 10 miles, she just died on me, so i was still coasting and i pushed the clutch in and popped it back out, and when it started back up i gave it gas and it had nothing just kept bogging down. got it towed home, and changed the distributer rotor and all that stuff plugs and wires, checked all my fuses, and that screw on my rotor is still in place, so i tried spraying gum cutter in the throttle body and still no attempt to start. I think i am getting just a little spark not much, if i let it sit for awhile and try to start it up, it tries to start but doesnt, i have no clue, search didnt help, im stumped, help if you can
im not getting any CELs, and i took the hose off the fuel filter and turned the key to let the pump primer up i guess, and fuel was coming out the screw, but i also sprayed gum cutter in the throttle body and it didnt even try to putter or cough at all.

well i bought the ZC motor from Cali, so you saying they might have sent me a bad motor
well i drove it for bout 10 miles, then it died so what would have made me lose compression, cause i had it for a little while??

I doubt you lost compression on all 4 cylinders. If you lost compression on 1 cylinder the car would still run (like crap, but still run). Do the compression test just to make sure, it is easy to do.
What do you mean by " a little spark" is the spark weak? Do you have your cam sensor wired up correctly and connected still (assuming this is a DOHC zc?)?
Is this a used dizzy or new? When I did a zc swap 4 years ago I had alot of problems with the distributor that came with the motor so I ended up buying a new one.
You could also try taking your distributor apart and ohms your coil to make sure it is within spec.

yes i have a weak spark, do you have a pic of the correct wireing diagram?
Well i took a ZC out of the car, and put another ZC back in, and i used the old distributor that worked fine with the old motor, but didnt change a thing with this one.
Could it be my ignition switch?
I'll try a compression test this week, just to make sure.

my hatch is doing this very same thing, no code. bogs and dies.
i can get mine to start after multiple attempts but it runs horribly and shakes the whole car.
bump for more advice for your (and my) problem.

Me to i wish i had so codes to help me go bye.
what would make me get a weak spark?
Your lucky you even get yours to start LOL, mine doesne even do that, if i let it sit for awhile, it'll try to start up, but then nothing after that same old same old annoying crank sound, what i would give to be able to hear her run 1 more time.
Someone please help us, someone out there has to know, you HT ppl no alot bout hondas

You need to check your cap and rotor and plugs and wires....if thats all fine....then check and fix your timing.

The same thing happened to me last month, but it was just a plug that came loose on the ecu. I doubt its that simple, but always check the small simple stuff first!
Your map sensor and all your vacuum lines set up correctly?
And check all your grounds too.. just make sure its not some stupid ridiculous thing before you go and by new dizzy's and fuel pumps

DOHC ZC how do i make sure it didnt jump teeth? and how do i put it back right??
I dont know too much bout all that stuff, i can put the motor in but i dont know bout the riming and such.
what would make the timing be off if it drove jsut fine for bout like 10 miles or so? I just dont want it to happen again.
Show some pics of what??

You may not have had the proper tension on the timing belt and it slipped a tooth (or several). Download the CRX Workshop manual (if you haven't already), there are timing procedures for a DOHC Zc engine in there.
Take off the upper t-cover and valve cover. At TDC for cyl #1 you have 1 arrow saying "UP" on each cam gear. At TDC both arrows should be up. You also have a mark on your lower t-cover the 3 dots on the crank pully. If I remember right the one dot in the middle should line up with the mark in the t-cover when at tdc.

after it broke down on me, i was seeing how tight the old motor, timing belt was, and the difference to the new one, and the old one moved a little, and the new one moved a more than it, so i asked my dad, could that be to loose? he said no, but it felt weird to me, i think it might be the tension was to loose and it jumped timing, ill check it out thanks guys.

OK so i found it it jumped time, so i put it back right and went out for a test drive, and in about 15 20 miles the timing jumped again not sure why any ideas??

i had the same thing happen to me, check the tentionioner. throw on a new timing belt and tentioner
