warming up the car vs starting and go
The catylitic converter won't last as long if you idle for long periods because at idle it doesn't get hot enough. I think the owners manual specifically says to not idle for longer than 10 minutes after start.
It depends, if the car is warm, then u can just start, give it a few seconds to get set and then you can go. However, if you come out in the morning IE when you're going to work, it is best to let it idle for at least a minute (I do it for a minimum 3 with the turbo). Because the oil isn't hot, coolant, etc etc, and you can damage your engine or something.
If you want your car to last longer, then let it warm up as necessary.

I go with what honda recommends, no more than a minute of warming up needed. Then i just take it easy on the road till the car is at normal operating temp.
