Default HELP! FUEL INJECTOR/PUMP QUESTION!!!

Hey,

I was told that I would gain more horsepower if I put bigger injectors and fuel pump in my car before I tune. I have a h22 with injen intake, headers, magnaflow exhaust, test pipe, cam gears, aem pullies, aem fuel rail, skunk 2 throttle body, skunk2 itm, MSD ignition, and VACF2 controller. So would bigger injectors and fuel pump actually help my car or would it be no difference if I put them in or not. If so, what size should I go with. Thanks

No.

With your list of basic mods, the stock injectors/pump is sufficient enough. Throwing in larger injectors at this point will only bog you down and you'll possibly lose some whp (running too rich).

I agree the fuel pump & injectors aren't needed at this point. You might upgrade the pump just for the peace of mind and get a regulator so can have a bit more control of things, but it's not necessary.

FYI those particular parts aren't doing anything as far as power gains.

What header (no s) do yo have?

DC Sports. What do you mean they aren't doing anything?

I mean exactly what I said...nothing as far as power gains. You're not gaining anything from them..no horsepower or torque or anything. Maybe .5 hp from the pullies.

Also with a DC sports header you definately don't need any fuel upgrades. It's just a tiny bit better than the stock header on an H22....if that Some higher end headers that make power definately require a good tune, but not really on a DC header.

What are some of the headers that make a lot of power because I was thinking about switching them because they came with the car when I bought it.

They're not going to be cheap, but RMF, SMSP, Hytech etc are some I can think of off hand. There's an Official Prelude header thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1437360
