Check Engine light comes on at high rpm
On a hard pull my check engine light will come on at higher rpm when i am at full throttle. When the code appears my fuel (perhaps spark too) is cut and the light stays on until i lift off the throttle. At which point i can accelerate again. I am running an s300 and I tried logging the code but it doesn't show up.
One thing to note is that i have an IAC code but the IAC is known to be good. Hondata allows you to disable this code which i have done. A compounded problem which i'm trying to see if they are related is that i have a touchy throttle which i thought could be attributed to a vacuum leak, but everything looks solid. I removed the IAC to check if it was clean and then bolted it on again and it seemed to behave better. Throttle not so touchy, and i could pull harder without calling that code as early in the rpm range.
Let me know if these symptoms sound familiar, Because it's a real pain in the *** to be racing that chevelle and having my throttle cut off right at peak power ! (still beat him tho

hmm, you have to be able to read that code(s), otherwise it's shots in the dark...
i know you know that but i'm just reinforcing it.
does the s300 have something that indicates certain issues by doing what it's doing? like with the Power FC, the CEL will flash at one interval for knock over a set level, and at another interval for injector duty going over a set level...

My rev limiter is set to a fixed point whereas this is a variable issue.
When you say boost limit you must be refering to the boost cut feature right.
Oh thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou
I just checked my calibration file and my boost cut is at 20psi. I've done a peak and hold on my boost controller and i've maxed out at 20psi. Makes perfect sense. So my ecu is acting as my boost controller since my boost controller is asking for more than the ecu will allow. I'm goiing to set my controller to 20 pounds and have the ecu shaddow it at 25 pounds just for safety.
I'll post and tell you how it made out, i'm gonna flash it after work tonight.
Thanks so much for your help........... I love this site!!

There we go, it's rockin now.
It's ridiculously fast now....It was cutting me off right in it's peak power band, but now it's crazy.
Thanks for your help guys.
