my DIY Brake-cooling-ducts
Last weekend i have finished my selfmade Brake-cooling-ducts, so my ITR is now reday to race for this saison.
For my little projekt i take some suggestions/ideas from the following sources:
http://www.sandmracing.com/m_b05_ducts.html

here some pics of the result:

Now in the moment it's not yet a 100%-optimal solution, perhaps i optimize the system with plates like this:

relatively simple in construction and is likely to provided adequate cooling too
the end that points onto the rotor/caliper area. Did you use any other way to secure it or is it merely held in place with the zip ties?

It merely held with the zip ties (this are special temperature-resistant zip ties).
I hope it hold onTrack too ... else i must reconsider it and find a other solution.

The foglights are optional here too, because of this there are no holes pre-existing.
But there are enough place for holes, so i could easy made holes with my boring machine.

Well done. Thats awesome. As long as the zip ties can take the heat I don't see why they wouldn't work.
More pics of that garage and those old cars too, please.

Great job, but unfortunately, here in the USA, many of the racing sanctioning bodies (SCCA, NASA) prevent the drilling of extra holes in the body work for purposes of brake cooling, engine cooling, etc.
Also, the zip ties that you have on the suspension may melt. Things in that area get very hot, but it seems they are far enough away from the rotor that it may be ok???? But, just in case, maybe you can use some sort of metal wire or something.

Very nice DIY, I'll probably do the same...
David this rule only applies to competition NASA and SCCA events correct? I don't see a problem running the same type of set up from your front grill area.

looks to be in place of where the OEM fog lights go
i'd use it under the pretense i had the fog-lights installed and just removed them
feasible?

O.K., at next opportunity i try to look for some metal-ties.

Yes, they are placed wehere the OEM-fogs go.
Matt from S&M-Racing has build his brake-cooling-ducts with the OEM foglight-sockets:

not in this country
Good job. Looks like it should work pretty well.

I too have been pondering some cooling ducts. The USDM front end sucks though without going in the grill area...

Remove your turn signals and use those.

Trust me, I spent 2 weeks arguing that I removed the plastic lights so there would be no need to "tape" them...the rules say lights must be taped. End of story. SCCA sucks
Instead, I can cut a 5" hole in my front bumper IF I have a splitter.
