Default 06si/NA with lag!??

Well, im in a state of confusion right now.

Last night, I ran a buddy of mine with a FG2 i/h/e, basically almost same setup as mine. We do a 40roll in 2nd. Dead even until we both go into 4th and he walked on me instantly! It seemed as if I had put my foot on the brakes! I dont know what the deal is but im going to do a dyno one of these days to make sure im getting the numbers I should be getting.

Any probabilities of some kind of failure? Someone share the same experience?

What do you mean different shift points....? Hes racing a Si with his Si. Are you referring to him shifting sooner or later than his friend, or are you claiming that the other car has different gearing which would make different shift points?

Also what X said: is your VSA on? If so that will cut fuel etc when the system detects to much power going to the wheels etc.

Ive noticed that other ppl with the new Si think that when you add horsepower that your gearing changes. There was a hilarious thread where ppl were asking how peoples shift points changed when they got turbos/supers hahahahaha.

My guess is that the cars arent modded quite the same. You would also need a good amount of power for VSA to kick in during a rolling start drag race. especially if it was kicking in 4th gear. I ont think its possible to give a new Si enough power to squeel 4th yet

Totally agree and not mention after re-reading his title he has an 06 which did NOT come with VSA.

Mine is a 06 as stated in the title. So in that case, no VSA. Yes, the car was warmed up.

Mine: Injen CAI, DCRH,

His: Fujita Short Ram, DCRH, and custom 2.5 piping.

Type X brought up a good point about doing a compression check. Ill do that asap.

weirdly i think the exhaust setup has something to do with this.
being you have a race header you might be "bottlenecking" the power ?

Or

Your friends a douche & got a reflash and didn't tell you

nope. He isnt running reflash. I could tell because we were both shifting through 3rd and 4th at the same time. But I higly doubt that the exhaust is the advantage in this case.

depending on how bad he pulled on you, its likely just from a different shift point and his exhaust will help add a few extra ponies.

If he shifts at 8, hes going to land it right in vtec and start to pull again, however if you waited til 8300+ you will have started to pull on him but then lag behind because hes already gained rpm on you in the next gear... just my thoughts.

I doubt its anything serious unless hes really pulling hard (half a car or more) then yeah you might get something checked.

Yes, he passed me by more than a car or so. I doubt the exhaust will give him that much of a jump.

SO SO true. I have been in some peoples cars bone stock that seem like its on crack and then climb in with another same car stock that felt like it was doing good just to run.
