I'd see if you have any oil leaks in there, but not much other than that. The manual tensioner shouldn't be a problem unless it's really old and you could replace the balance shaft belt (but I would leave it off if I were you ) Balance shaft seals can leak but not always, so you could check that out too.

now that you mention that crank pulley holder tool, how exactly does it work? i need to get one, but what, does it fit inside the pulley, just outside the bolt? and you have to hold that while turning the crank bolt?

theres a hexagon indent in the crank pulley that this tool sits in
http://www.amazon.com/Alltrade...r=8-1

then you attach a 1/2" breaker bar and rest it against the ground, and a 19mm socket goes thru the hole in the middle to the bolt.
a 2' extension also helps to clear the fender

lol you know what i tried today? well i have a flywheel tooth holder thing, but i couldnt get that to work properly (and now that i think about it, i think i know what i did wrong). instead i used a flat blade screwdriver to hold the flywheel, and it held just fine. i had a 19mm socket on crank pulley bolt, an extension, a breaker bar on the end, and as a cheater bar.... a 10 foot piece of 1 1/4" conduit

the weakest link ended up being the 19mm socket, cracked right in half, and that bolt didnt even budge.

if its "crapsman" that's why it broke in the first place!

(I go through 25-50 crapsman/mastercrap different tools/accessories a year, so now I keep a box just for receipts from those two retailers)

Nice move with PVC conduit. that was my leverage for doing the same job.

Spray a bit of penetrate (don't get on pulley some how magically or belts for that matter) a couple hours b4 job.
