Stuck ! Idle screw

Default Stuck ! Idle screw

I need to adjust my idle and the idle screw is stuck......


ALSO, Whenever I unplug my iacv to try to adjust the idle screw, engine shuts off....


im still obd0... Iacv is from a z6 manifold..... (i have a z6 manifold)

please help thanks....

The idle screw is usually gunked up with crap. They can be a pain to get out as they are soft brass. Get a screwdriver that has a large tip and fits the slot without any play. you might have to remove the TB to get better access. Try screwing it in before you unscrew and use some wd40 or something. if you booger up the slot removing it just cut a new slot in the other direction with a hacksaw or dremel

so lets say I get it to moove, to what rpm should I adjust it with the iacv off ?

should the car turn off without the iacv ?

they have that tool where you hammer it, and each impact turns the driver like a fraction of a rotation. it only turns when you have maximum force pushing down on the screw so it's way less likely to strip.

damn i can't remember what it's called....

but it's perfect for situations like that.

Hey so what exactly did you do to get it loose? i have the same problem. Did you have to use the impact screwdriver?
