Default gsr in 2000 civic si

i no this is a drop in swap but what about the wiring. i no you can not use the gsr engine harnss cause the si harness is one piece unlike every year before. so that means you have to use the si harness right? if so doe it bolt up to the gsr motor no problem or do you have to cut and extend. basiclly my ls/vtec throw a rod bearing and im yanking it out. stuck between a gsr or stock b16. i dont want to hack up my wiring harness and the motor probably wont be in that long. going to rebuild current set up. i have both motors siting in the garage. what would you do?

the lsvtec harness should be perfect on the gsr swap in regards to all the sensors and wire length

are you using the stock gsr intake manifold and is your gsr motor obd1 or obd2?

The Si harness will work perfectly other than extending a few wires etc. You will also have to Wire in the iab since the gsr had it and the si didn't. This is as simple as running one wire to the ecu and one wire to the thermostat ground.

i dont really like to cut the wires to extend them, so what i do to avoid that i usually cut all the loom off the harness, then i connect the harness to the motor it'll be going on, when its on and plugged up i get loom and tape and just start wrapping the harness nicely... if you do this theres usually no need to cut wires and it fits nice and tucked

(when you have all the loom off its easy just to pull the plug its wires off the harness and place them where they need to go)
