B20B and Greddy Turbokits
Alright guys, for the pass three years I've had this B20B in my 96 civic coupe, love the motor but I would really like to do an upgrade, I wouldn't mind going the turbo route. My question is, would the greddy kit be a good upgrade for my car? And if so how much power can I expect to achieve with the kit. I'm not looking for anything crazy, maybe 200 to 230 whp. I also thought about the CR/vtec, but I don't have the knowledge to do it myself and i can't afford the downtime since my car is a daily driver. Any imput will be greatly appreciated.
yeah, the greddy kit really isnt bad. A lot of people bash it, but i think its pretty damn nice considering what it all is.
My numbers are in my sig, but I upgraded the injectors and turned up the boost a little bit.
I'm also going to get a new downpipe and a 3" exhaust so I can turn up the boost even more and make some more power.
Do a search for greddy turbokit related threads, you'll read about people that love it and hate it so that way youll get a summary of a lot of opinions, that way you can make your decision based on everything instead of what only a few people say.

If you're only looking for 200-230whp, then you can keep your stock internals and not even break a sweat over your rods breaking (with a good tune). Stock B20B's have 8.8:1 CR (if my memory serves me correctly), which means that you can EASILY make 230whp 93octane pump gas @ about 7-8psi of boost, with no worry of detonation.
Greddy makes a decent kit, but there are better kits to be had (for the money), and you can piece together your own system for even cheaper, you're just gonna need to do ALOT of research to do it right. But know that as soon as you feel 230whp, you're gonna start wondering what 300 feels like, and then you become a horsepower addict. One is born everyday, and they don't have rehab programs for that.

The only reason I can see to get a Greddy kit is if you live in California and need the CARB exemption to "help" pass smog like I did. Since I don't have to deal with smog anymore, I am upgrading as soon as I can.
