LCA bolt won't come off
I'm trying to get my rear shocks off to put lowering springs on my car. But my LCA bolts will not come off. I've given them everything I have. Impact wrench, WD40 and lots of it. Propane torch for a little while. I got one nut off one bolt. But the bolt won't come out. On the other side, neither will spin off. Help me
Sounds like the bolt is rusted to the inner bushing cylinder. Had this happed to me on almost all my cars.
PB Blaster spray could break the rust and you could possibly hammer it out. Another method is heating the bolt with a higher temp flame, careful not to torch the rubber bushing. Leverage is your friend and a long breaker bar or pipe on the rachet could break the bolts loose. Too much torque and you could rip off the nut and bolt together! I had a few that were so bad I had to replace the whole arm.
Good luck!

The heads of my LCA bolts simply snapped. Buy new bushings and LCA bolts and prepare to use a saws all to cut the bolts. Mind the ABS sensor wires. You can try both directions with the impact wrench to free the bolt from the bushing sleeve. Good luck!
i usually have bad luck with the bolt between the shock and lca in the rear. there is a nut welded on to the strut fork and that is usually curroded so sometimes the head of the bolt will break and you have yourself a headache. try to take it off from the hub and chasis. if that doesn't work, then do what dogginator said above.
