Please Help!!! Engine making noise........
I searched and couldn't find anything so hear goes;
98 GSR DC2. 99k miles.
The engine just started making a grinding or 'ruddy' or rough sound especially under load like the engine belongs in a 86 mustang 4 cyl. it almost sounds like a coffee grinder.I hope that makes sense. I have no idea what it could be. Along with that when i first start the car it also makes a rattling noise that sounds like the exhaust might be loose, i dont know if it is. Please give me any advice ideas as I am broke and dont want to do further damage.
Now im really **** when it comes to noises, i hear everything.But even my girlfriend who could care less noticed it so that really worries me.
I really appreciate all of your advice and opinions in advance. This website is a HUGE reason why I will never sell this car.

depending on the rattling noise and for sure comming from the block. it's possible its rod bearings. but im not sure cuz i dunno what exactly the sound your hearing.
Could i just have a loose exhaust and need a valve asjustment?
It has been about 30k miles.
The engine is making almost like a ticking sound under light load. I have to drive and stick my head out the window to hear it really well.
Please more advice. Also can i just take it to the dealership, have them diagnose for free and then tell them i willl bring it back to finish the repairs and never do?

under 4400 rpms i would say and when the engine is under load. I'm beggining to think it is an exhaust leak or my header is cracked. They always rub up against the speed bumps in my neighborhood. ]
Does that sound about right.
