Yesterday morning on my way to work, I heard a loud pop come from the front right wheel well. I thought I noticed my brakes acting funny today so I've got it up and removed the wheel to inspect. Brakes are totally fine, but my tranny is covered in oil!?!?! I pop the hood, and it appears to be coming from the small plate where the clutch linkage connects. Is there a gasket in there that could have gone bad? Another thing, the "tube" that comes straight up out of that same plate, where does it connect? Or is it supposed to connect to anything? When I did the clutch work, I couldn't find what was supposed to connect to it and simply capped it off. Now I'm thinking that it is simply a way for the tranny to release pressure and that by capping it, I blew a gasket

What seals are in the tranny of this year? I don't think it's the rear main because it seems to be leaking from the plate that the clutch linkage attaches to. PPPLLLEEEEEEEEZZZZZ tell me there is a seal there that could have blown
if you just did a clutch, then its 5spd. What probably happened was, the pressure built up inside the case, and it blew out what ever you caped the hose with, and the low pressure that was created inside the transmission caused some gear oil to come out the tube and all over the trans.
Check the fluid level in the trans, fill it back up if its low, clean the trans off, take it for a test drive and see if anymore oil is leaking out.

I REALLY hope this is the case, but with my luck I doubt it. I'll be doing a wheel bearing replacement tomorrow and cleaning the engine bay. I'll post up afterward to let yall know if this was the case.
