sun/moon roof
oh and is it worth vtec-ing an ls? i hear all kinds of things like they smoke like a chimney, cost more than a gsr engine, not reliable, they leak, and so on...so are they worth it and guys with ls/vtecs please share your experience with me...

tilt option? Just tap the button and the glass tilts up before it slides open. I crack mine open to let heat out inside the car during the day, or for ventilation while driving in the rain.
Sun roof = opaque metal panel that slides open
Moon roof = glass panel that slides open with an opaque sliding shade inside. You can open the shade at night and see the moon and stars without actually opening the glass panel.

yea, i got the same thing as you patrick
im just saying, that i know some cars come with the option where the front tilts up and you are able to get some wind in the car. im just not sure if integra's come with it or not

Of course it tilts, because the glass slides up and out over the roof (doesn't go into the roof when open, like I wish mine did).
But some cars do have a separate switch to make it stop at the tilted up position. I do wish Integras had that. Instead you just have to hit the switch a couple of times to make it stop in the tilted up position before it slides backwards.

OP: As far as the 3rd-gen Integra goes, they ALL came with the same exact moonroof except for the RS (which had none). It's tinted glass, tilts up and slides back on the exterior of the roof.
Patrick: dude, you're crazy
. The sliding out instead of into the roof is neat. I think it adds a sporty profile to the car.

I don't like how it looks when open, plus I'm always paranoid when driving highway speeds with the glass open, that the wind is going to catch it and rip it off (heard of a few reports of it happening on here). I always slide it closed, but keep it tilted up, if I want ventilation while driving on the interstate.

True true. Type-R has no moonroof of course.

Don't get me wrong now, I love having the moonroof also, but I just don't care for how it has to sit sticking up on top of the roof when it's open. And of course the paranoia of the wind ripping it off on the highway.
hm....from experience i drive on the freeway above 55 all the time and keep my moonroof open....so far so good....*knocks on wood*...has anyone had any "bad experiences" themselves...not just stories they've heard?
I'm always doing 80 with my sunroof open, it's not a problem. The thing is bolted down tight just like everyhting else in the path of oncoming air - no risk of flying off unless you or a previous owner have messed with it...

The glass is not bolted in, it's got adhesive on it just like the rest of the glass on the car. I have seen several cases here on H-T of people having their moon roof glass fly off on the interstate and shatter on the ground behind them.
Well I know I've seen a few reports but this is the only one I could find: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1609250
It also happened to my friend's Mazda 626 a few years ago.

hmm ive never heard of the glass flying off on a teg but my friend told me about a VW he had where it flew off. crappy germans.
and also, i dont know if this matters to any of you, and im sure you already know, but driving with the moonroof open will really mess with the wind flow over the car. if you drive in the rain, the water will run straight down your rear window (with wiper off of course) but then if you tap the moonroof to tilt you can watch the water dance there and not flow down. im going on a roadtrip soon, im gonna do some experimenting where ill drive say 200 miles with the windows all shut no a/c (probly at night), 200 miles with all windows cracked, 200 miles windows shut but with a/c on... and ill see what i get. im real interested to see exact figures for my teg.
and also, my mothers subaru has 2 moonroofs, push the putton once and it will tilt the front window up, push the button again and it will open the rear moonroof and i think the rear one slides into the roof.

My Integra came with the moonroof visor standard from the dealer. With that, you don't have to worry about the moonroof coming off, since it deflects the air over the opening and the front of the moonroof.

Damn it now you're making me paranoid!!! Stop it right now!!
I can see it now: "Hello insurance company, yes, I'd like to place a claim - my moonroof achieved flight and went through some other dude's windshield on the 405... I'm gonna need a new piece of glass, and the other dude is gonna need some reconstructive surgery to the facial area. Yes I'll hold..."

Hahaha. Big + for mentioning the 405, because I hate that freeway, but just the fact that it's So Cal.
I love my sun/moonroof. It looks good and lets air in/out. And smoke when I'm smokin' hahaha.
