Default Adding in an OEM Honda Navi unit to a non-navi SI

I'm in the position to buy a brand new OEM Navi unit for $600.

I'm most likely going to buy it.. just wondering what I would need to do to get this into my car? I figure I have to buy the double din dash peice and the wiring harness, what all else do I need to do?

Also.. would I be missing some of the features that you get when the navi is factory installed? Just wondering if some of the things that a factory navi unit has couldn't be wired in and whatnot.

oem navi vs aftermarket 99% of the people would perfer aftermarket cuz it plays dvds and stock dont and you can do a bypass to watch dvds on the go and you would need like x said dash kit (oem or scosche or metra ebay) wire harness oem ant adaptor and if you have the oem preimuim sound you need a reverse wire harness for the bypass of factory amp ( crutchfiled)

I had an Eclipse unit that was over 2500 dollars in my element.

OEM > aftermarket ... trust me.

meaning that oem pawns aftermarket? you cant compare a new oem say against a old or cheap aftermarket , it should be like new vs a new modern in dash you know?

since you scored the OEM for $600 rock it. I have my eye on Kenwoods set up, mostly because they use Garmins infrastructure. But if I had the opportunity to score OEM for $600 I'd get that. Currently I rock a Garmin StreetPilot 7500, but this was purchased for work related use. Its the biggest portable GPS unit on the market with a 7.5" LCD screen. It's really cool, but all the wires coming from the 3 wires coming from the unit doesn't provide a clean look and hopefully I can get something in dash soon.

x2 same here thats why im saying aftermarket is all you need plus its a bonus of having ability to play dvds and more stuff oem cant touch on top of that you can get new indash navi/dvd for that price but even if the op were to go oem route he would need to spent more with several things like harness dash kit and all required acc....

hey ive been wondering this for awhile. maybe theres someone here that works at the dealership that would know this.

Can you go to honda and have them install the navi after you bought your car and add the cost onto your car payment?? that would be sweet if you could do that!

Hey X thanks for the info I was curious about that myself. Sounds like a spendy but worthwile venture.

iceboi714 Read the whole thread there is a list a couple posts up.
killyourscene I am pretty sure that you can not add anything to the car and put it in your finacing unless it is done before purchasing (or while of course)
