Has anyone had any experience with these, or are they all hype? says on the ads that they extend engine life by attracting metal shards and the like to the plug surface....
Think of this, how do they attach that little magnet?
All it would take is for that thing to come loose and go flying all around your motor to possibly do some damage.
Stick with regular ones and just change your oil

I use one on my Volvo but that’s just because it came in a "tune-up kit", I've had it for 3 years / 30,000 miles (that car is now up to about 162,000 miles). It’s never picked up any metal shavings which is good I guess, and more importantly it’s never leaked oil.
If you want / need a new plug then sure, get the one with the magnet if it’s in the $5 or under range. Else just get the standard drain plug for a few bucks from your dealer. And don’t forget to get crush washers for each time you change the oil.

how about this
buy some super strong neodymium magnets from hobby lobby, stick to oilfilter can or the oilpan?
they do have them and they're really hard to get unstuck
