- insurance (GSR's)-
what insurance provider does everyone have? what coverage? how many tickets? how much is it for the whole year? i got AAA, i got 1 ticket, and its 2500/year
Doesnt seem too bad, Full coverage I hope. But it all depends what state you are in too. I have NJ only insurance, Try Liberty Mutual, They are online somewhere , and my brother has them, he says they are cheap, and very quick to pay if you have any problems.
and its 2500/year
edited: BTW, we both have clean records (no tickets, no accidents).

It's hard to say how much is insurance for a gsr. Of course if you live in CA, it's going to be more expensive then other states.
Also, your age is a factor, the city you live in, and how good your driving record is.
I put my 94gsr under my gf's name (*She won't run off with it, we are getting married*). She is 24 and have a spotless record for the last 8 years and it's $1250 a year for full coverage from State Farm. This is with
$500 Collision
$500 Comprehensive
$50k property damage
30/60 bodily injury
$5k medical
and 30/60 some other crap, forgot what it was.
AAA offered her $1200 full coverage BUT she had to show proof she was insured at least 6 months the past 8 years. If not, it's $2000. Something she didn't have because her Dad had full coverage on all their cars, so she didn't buy insurance. StateFarm on the other hand offer her $1250 and they would "overlook" the fact that she didn't have insurance the past 8 years.
I didn't even bother to ask how much it would be under my name......

Back in '96 when I got my car, I wanted to get insurance under my own name. I first tried my parents insurance agency, and they wanted $4500 a year (full coverage), even though I had no accidents or points.
I basically had everything against me at that time:
1) I live in NJ
2) My commute to work is roughly 50 miles each way
3) I was under 25
4) being a male sure as hell didn't help
5) I was never under any policy before (having a teenage boy under the parents policy was way too expensive, and since my dad wasn't Bill Gates, we decided to keep me off), so no insurance history.
6) The car wasn't exactly a geo metro, so the insurance agency probably had fears of me racing anybody and everybody
The insurance agency did say that if I opted to be under my parents policy, they'll knock it down $4200 a year
So I signed on with NJ Re-Insurance Company for $3350 a year. Later on, the company I worked for became a participant in NJ Manufacturers, so I transferred to them. Now, my insurance is down to ~$1400 a year (full coverage) with everything in the list above being the same, except for 3) and 5).
