Would the OEM LSD from a 1st gen b16 tranny or ITR tranny fit into a GSR tanny? Is it somthing even worth while?

 

Didn't the JDM Integra SiR (GSR here) have an LSD?

 

I'm almost positive that the B16 differential will not fit due to the B16's ring gear being smaller than the B18C1's (although the ratios are the same).

The stock ITR LSD will fit just fine.

 

Yep Mk is correct. The ITR LSD will slide right in a B18c1 tranny. If your buying a brand new LSD though I would highly recommend a Quaife unit. Basically the same price as OEM but much better performance.

 

Sure, if you get it from a stealership. But it can be had for very cheap (used one)

Perhaps.

You would have to change the ring gear and countershaft to B18C parts, but I'm not quite sure if the differential itself will fit in the B16 tranny case.

A Quaife lists for about 850, and ITR LSD is around 800ish I believe.

 

If I do this, I will find a used one. I read that used ones run from $300 to $500. I think that is a good price range for LSD. If I were to have to buy it brand new, I wouldn't bother, I would just get the quaife unit.

Is there any new parts I will need/should buy, like bearings and that sort before installing the OEM unit?

 

I believe it was an option on the SiR.

 

How about just mating a ITR or CTR trani to a B16A motor? Do any of you know if it will fit?
