hey HT homies have a question for u guys,
SO i plan to build a d16y8 for turbo nothing major - just vitara piston with eagle rods and apr head studs
So the question here is seeing how i am a broke like a joke and not making enough to get turbo right away after the build
will it be ok to run the motor with out turbo? and if a bad idea how long would it run for?
And whats your opinion on the venom intake manny? plus is there anymore reasonable priced engine mods that i should think about?
Sorry if this has been discussed in the past, didnt know how to word it for a search

i have my y8 rebuilt, just in the bottom end only, i still need to finish up the cylinder head and the transmission before i go turbo, im broke as a joke too......ive been driving my car n/a for the last 12,000 miles.
all i have are the basics, intake header, exhaust, 6 puck clutch......
car has been running fine on my 96 civic ex p2p ecu.....once i get everything put together and turboed ill be on neptune rtp.
i havent had any problems at all with the way my car drives, especially with that stock ecu and stock settings

I have been driving mine for like 2-3 months to brake the engine in it a d16a6vtec
get a good clutch act Up grade the fuel system. And start running like 8-9 pds.

You can run a crazy NA motor with boost, a motor build for boost w/o a turbo, or a supercharged NOS monster without either... You just have to have the correct tune.
What I'm saying is that with a Vitara build, you're around 8:1 compression, meaning you'd want some extra timing in your ign maps, and readjust the fuel maps since lower CR means less efficient burn, meaning needs less fuel (usually). I ran my semi-built motor for 1k miles (not because I wanted to break it in), and just did a quick tune and added some timing. Just was a little slow till I got the kit made up.

ok so you saying that if i lowered the fuel timing it should be fine correct? oh and if i just ran it stock p2p ecu it'll just burn a little rich right? plus will that be a bad thing to burn rich on a lowered compression engine?
Any who onto my other question which is does it feel much weaker?
PLus how bout erm venom intake mannys
