Default MY own personal JG HORROR story- a must read!

Well FINALLY got my engine back from good "ol JG- and man what a ******* mess! They never even cleaned/tanked the block at all- and no stamps on there either. It is dirtier than when it left! (The head on the other hand looks good- or I should say, it was tanked).

They didn't even have the decency to put tape over the oil dip-stick hole, any of the in/exh ports or the spark plug holes! I looked in with a light through there to see the new JE pistons, and everyone of them is visibly dirty/black!

Not only that, but you can still see the factory hondabond gasket remains on the block, as well as their black sealant crap that they just put on there when assembling.

NEVER EVEN GOT A SPEC SHEET! Still waiting for that...

Also I looked at the cam gears, and they are off from each other by an entire tooth! When you line the left cam gear to TDC, the right one lines up 1 entire tooth rotated to the left. Ray Charles could line up cam gears correctly- and these ******** balanced and assembled my entire engine!?!?

I have left numerous messages, spoke to worthless Nancy(the human answering machine good for nothing else but taking messages that never get answered), sent emails, etc.

My engine was suppossed to be all ready for shipping out 3 weeks ago- so when it didn't arrive 2 weeks ago, I called them up and he said it was still here because after it was put back together- they noticed that one of the cylinders was- now get this- 3 TENTHS too large. So they had to re-sleeve and hone it AGAIN.

So now before I put the engine into the car, I am having my shop guys take off the head and look at the block and pistons to see if it looks right- if not I am sending it to GE to resleeve and hone again. I will also have them recheck the balancing on the rods and pistons(which was also supposibly done) and remicropolish the crank(but I doubt this was done either so I should say "micropolish" instead of re-micropolish).

Really did a good job of polishing the head and intake manifold too- there is still carbon deposits in the TB opening.

They also took a nice 4 inch scrape out of my block too.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the point...

BEWARE OF JG AT ALL COSTS!

(I have already filmed the condition the engine is in, showing the dirty, cam gears, old hondabond gasket material- and when the head is off- I will also film that and take pictures for a friend to post for all to see. I wonder if I can stop payment on the balance of what I owe them ($1800- already paid $1500). Far as I am concerned- they didn't do **** to the block, and screwed up reassembling my engine- and the headwork was $1445 so the $1500 first payment covered that...)

Nancy told me that they don't warranty any of their work also- great people and company! I wish I lived close to them to show them this all.

Dude, that sucks, I would talk to a good lawyer if you can. It sucks when you trust and,m pay big dollars, and ship a motor to have someone you THINK is reputable , to work on it, and then this happens.
Teh thing that sucks is that I havent seen or heard of a reputable Honda Engine builder yet. Anyone know someone on the east coast, preferrably NJ????

Oh , the agony of dealing with VTEC engines, and the people that work on them.
BTW< The $80 I spent on the Helm manual was the best investment ever, you can do any repair yourself, may take you a bit longer, but at least you know what went into it.
Sorry to blab on. Feel for ya man. Arrrrghhhh

It would be impossible for the pistons to be new if they are black on top. Did you pay for new pistons or just a rebuild (rings and bearings)? I hate to hear stories like this

Man where have you been? Sorry to hear what happened to you but this is all old new about what Javier and Joey have been doing. listen look at this thread I posted a while back.
DON'T USE JG, THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER......TRUST ME!!!!
http://www.superhonda.com/forum/show...5&pagenumber=1

Check it out. There is more but I got tired of searching, sorry. One thing you must do is check put your pistons on top dead center and make sure the pistons do not sit above the deck. Like I said sorry to hear about it. I think you should stop payment. Thats what got them to get my **** out!
Good Luck!

**** them, don't pay them the rest of the money until they do what they were supposed to do. tell them Javier must do the work or no money. i hate shops that could be so awesome and prosperous if they just put a little more effort into their work. JG obviously has skills, but he still decides to surround himself with worthless people and screw people. JG BLOWS!

No telling what's going on over there. All i know is that they can take advantage of people so far away because they feel people can do nothing about it. This seems to have been going on forever, and I should have shopped around before making my final decision to go with these people. I really wish I would have heard of Golden Eagle.

That's what I should have done. I made Nancy put someone on the phone and it ended up being Javier's wife. I calmy explained to her what's been going on and I was planning to cancel my credit card on both motors that they were working on. Javier called me back within 2 hours. Man those people are worthless, and I will celebrate the day when they go out of business so someone please post it when it happens!

I've been around since 95 and I've heard horror stories back then.. I have no idea how they are still in business..

Just because you see a race company in a magazine all the time , it doesn't mean that they are a reputable company

Do your homework and get all the facts before you lay down your good hard earned money.

We as the consumers should really come together on this, and basically tell all that you can to boycott companies that dick people over.

Don't deal with John Brown either he'll do the same exact thing to you..

Feel free to add to the list..

I agree......how do they still stay in business. You know on superhonda.com they have a thread that list companies that members don't recommened. It's alway's at the top of the first page so people see it. Maybe we should do the same on Honda-tech! Hopefully that will put the word out on Javier and Joey!!!
