One of my valves didnt seat and I'm thinking of trying this first before I go out and buy some compound. Just wondering if anyone else tired it with some success.

For those that are interested, I used crest whiten plus baking soda and it worked great. I would only recommend it for a light lap job. The machine my machinist uses supposedly required no lapping but it turned out that 1 out of 16 needed to be lapped in (no big deal). I just put some on, spun it a few times by hand and the leak that I had before was gone.

From my experience the toothpaste worked. I came up with two conclusions.
1) The toothpaste actually help seat the valve.
OR
2) It could have just knocked some derbies loose.
