are parts from engine out of base model rsx and rsx type S interchangeable?

 

somethings are on different years.... like the old style rsx, on the base and type s the throttle bodies are the same, so the intakes are interchangeable. I used to have a base model and got a new type S and they changed the throttle bodies so it wouldnt fit anymore, but I sold it to a guy who put it on his 04 type S. and you can bolt up a base header and cat back exhaust onto a type s and vise versa. but you can't only bolt up one bc the flanges on the type s are bigger

 

im new to k series motors. on B series you can interchange engine heads like ls/vtec

is it the same with K. cause im looking to buy k20a from base rsx model because they affordable comparing to type-s. and then later put some k20a2 parts on it

 

k20a is the type r engine i think you ment to say k20a3... and you can frank the motor and do a build by putting a a2 head on a a3 block but i wouldnt say it is nearly as worth it.. k24 with the a2 head on it is good and is the main frank that k series guys do.. the a3 motor is just to different and more work than nessesary.. buy the a2 from the begining.. or get the k24 and buy a2 parts for it ..
