Anybody know anyone that will pass smog for me in the OC
The previous owner should have smogged the car before he sold it to you, unless you agreed on those terms (that you would smog it)
You should pass no matter what, the D15B8 is the 8-valve (75hp, lol) economy motor, it tends to have a pretty lean burn, judging by the insides of the few ive seen opened, so you shouldnt have a problem at all.

It shouldnt, but since this IS cali your talking about, i would maybe look to finding a stock intake box & tubes, cause as far as i know, they do pop your hood and take a look at the motor's components, at least thats what ive read in CA inspection horror stories.

As long as you have a CARB sticker on that bad boy it wont matter. If you dont and the station follows the rules they will fail you right away for visual inspection. I wouldnt take the chance and find a stock intake (arm/box) in the marketplace and slap it on.

and your 96 EK is OBD2... which means, when it comes time to smog you are going to be in for a world of hurt due to Cali Emission Laws.

Its not the emissions they are worried about. I had a D16y8(ODBII motor) in my 95EX (OBDI) and I failed visual but passed emission. Any smog tech that has half a brain is not going to touch that car. They might be nice enough to let you keep your $50 dollars instead of just taking it and failing you.
