H22A Distributor Question
Hi guys,
I searched and couldn't find the exact info I am looking for. I am doing some work on a customers car. Car is a '95 Civic, with a fully built high-compression JDM H22A swap installed.
He had a bunch of MSD garbage in the car that caused the car to break-up at high RPM on the dyno as I tuned it. I told him I'd pull out all of the MSD stuff, and return the car to factory ignition. Well, little did I know, the person who installed the MSD ignition ditched the guys internal coil, etc.
So, I am in need of a distributor at this point. The customer states that the JDM head casting has different distributor bolt up points than a USDM head. Does anyone know anything about that? Also, which H22A distributors utilize the internal coil vs. the external coil? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it!

You're looking for a JDM H22a distributor, they all come with an internal coil. And no, JDM heads do not have different castings for the distributor mounts.

Thank you, sir. And what's this about oil pumps and sensor pickups for the distributor? Am I going to run into problems with that as well?

OBDII H22a4's have a crank position sensor by the oil pump.
Seeing as you're OBDI, and running a JDM H22a, it doesn't concern your swap.
