Default Vibration, noone can help... =(

Ok guys, been reading HT posts for a long long time, first time I've ever joined/posted. Sorry for the delay.

The problem:

A while back when I was still sporting the d16, I was pulling into a parts house and did a small rolling burnout. When I went to leave, there was a roaring, I had decimated an axle. Swapped them out the following day with some new reman axles and I got a vibration. No biggie, I figured a reman was bad, bought brand new OEM axles(90-93 for my DOHC zc trans).

Vibration was still there.

Got another new trans from Steve at Hmotors. Vibration remains.

As of right now, the car is in this condition.

NEW:
wheel bearings
poly bushings front to back
falken azenis rt615's
coilovers
integra brakes(fine, no warping)
steering rack
balljoints
tie rod ends
SIR b16&trans
new halfshaft
oem 90-93 integra axles

wheels have been checked, all straight, balanced and all.

I still have this insane vibration, and it's getting worse. I've had the car on a lift, nothing loose, all is tight. perfect alignment.

It only vibrates between 25-45(violently so) and about 9 out of 10 times. every now and then, you leave a redlight, and it is smooth as silk. Also, when I first leave the house in the morning, it is smooth and fine for about a mile, then starts this crap up again. I'm at a loss here guys. It isn't worse when turning, and after you get out of the vibration, it's flawless and rides like a lexus... WTF!!!!

Help me out guys, I've exhausted my local honda dealer, myself and all of my friends(I'm actually a technician, certified in suspension. This is driving me crazy.

Wheels unbalanced? Tires warped? Camber issues?

wheels/tires balanced, tires flawless, has a bit of negative camber, but it had that before the vibration started.

I'm ready to trash it and move on guys.. please help, I love this car.. EXCEPT for this vibration

a rack end bushing? the symptoms dont quite fit, but given the money you have put into it already, a $10 part could make a big difference.

mmmmmmmm...... possibly drive train................
Could be in the tranny.
Could be a bent fin on the fly wheel....
A spring could have came out of the clutch, witch would cause it to not be balanced at certain speeds...

I have seen it happen before
with rolls oh yea

Brand new rack though bro. I'll gladly check it though. Wheelhop may have caused it. Another thing. It ONLY does this on accel. On decel there is no vibration, if you are accelling, and it starts, you let off, it goes away.

Had my original D16 in there, with first dohc zc trans. This started, I changed transmission, then built a D series(all new, balanced and everything) with a lightweight flywheel and a brand new clutch, AND a different dohc zc tranny) still vibrated. Now I am on a B series drivetrain, still vibrates

well, brand new rack rules out the rack end bushing.

ball joints are the only thing that has ever caused that exact style of vibration for me, but it was on an 84 prelude and it was around 65 mph..

i know you changed your balljoints before, but i would suspect them as my first idea.

the strange thing about your situation is your alignment is good.. that is what is throwing me.

just for fun, i say you should measure out an x on your front suspension, from like the front passenger ball joint to a central point on the rear crossmember, and then do the same for the driver side. if your measurements come out close, then we have proved nothing, but if they come out far apart, then one control arm is out of whack, maybe from a run in with a curb in the past or something. i have heard horror stories of strange alignment and tracking issues with a bad rear cross member also, which could change placement of the lower control arm.

either way, good luck...

check your radius rods, but if you put all poly bushings in they should be fine. also check your crank pulley the rubber in them likes to rot out. might want to check your front and rear crosmembers to make sure they are tight and look over your motor mounts too.

when you say new halfshaft do you mean new intermediate shaft?

Yes, intermediate = half shaft. I actually have another crossmember, and I was thinking about just putting the ****** on.. I can't stand this anymore.

im kinda confused about your setup

you had a d16, broke the axles, then put on new axles and got the vibration

then you did a zc swap and the vibration was still there? or did you just do the zc trans?

an intermittent violent vibration under acceleration does NOT point toward tires or rims... unless his wheels are LOOSE.

The problem has to be related to the front suspension / steering because of the different engine / trans combinations.

= constant vibration, not intermittent and only under acceleration

All balljoints/tie rod ends/and the steering rack are brand new. Haven't really messed with the rear as it started during a rolling burnout and shakes from front to back.

All bushings are poly, and in good shape..

Thinking about changing the cradle out today. Keep you updated

There are 5 main things that cause Vibration.....
1 Rough wheel bearing
2 Damaged drive axle
3 Out of round tires
4 Tires out of balance
5 Worn cv joints

I agree and inner cv joints tend to make a shimmy from 25-50mph when the're worn.
take the boot off and run your finger up each telescopic bearing surface, this seems to be overlooked alot.
