yet another odessey tranny crap out. Need option please!!
its a 2001 with the 3.5l, 4spd auto tranny. it started today, Wouldn't shift, so i got it scanned and it had 2 codes, PO730 inncorrect gear ratio and PO780 innsufficent shift quality. Now i believe the second code was that.. the number is right but i forgot the wording. When the codes where erased i drove it 15miles so far, it workes great shifts and all.
i dont just want to just take it to a shop, they will replace the tranny, i know. been thru it before. I am wondering why after the codes and the memory were earsed it worked fine. Could it just be a electronic problem?
Any one been true this problem and have had it not been the tranny??
Thanks all

ouch. There are very few routes to take with this. Either have it rebuilt by a reputable transmission shop or belly up and buy a new one. You may be able to contact American Honda and get them to do a cost split or something (you pay for labor and they pay for parts).
But if you go the rebuild route do homework. AAMCO is usually a bad choice with a Honda because they don't do the right procedure to rebuild it.

that's not too uncommon. I've had an 02 civic hybrid with over 200k
