Default How do you jump the a/c compressor?

My compressor is not spinning when the a/c button is on and as a last resort before I take it to the shop, I want to see if the compressor is completely dead or something. People have mentioned that there is a safety switch that you can jump to get the compressor to work. Where about's is this switch and what do I need to do to jump it? All fuses and crap checked out okay but what worry's me is that when I went to fill it a while back, the gauge that you fill it with said it was overcharged but the damn a/c was working just a few months prior to now and I haven't even touched it.

Yo.. Just unplug the the connector to the compressor and with the car on (A/C on) test to see if you have power with a test light. The wire you will need to test will more than likely be red or yellow but if not just test them all... if none of them have power you problem lies elswhere. If the system was overcharged somehow ????? then it wouldnt get power to the compressor.

I just simply want to see if the compressor is dead or not. I keep reading that when you jump it, it'll either run or not. If it runs, than it may be electrical or simply something else but if it doesn't, the compressor is probably dead. Just don't know how to jump on.

Never mind, took it to a shop and they found the connector behind the control panel was loose. Thank god it was just that. Thanks for the small help I got!
