........ how to remove FISH smell from car interior ? ? ?
Long story short, I spill some asian food in my passenger seat.
This food has tons of liquid and I did not notice it until after about driving 20mins.
Once I got home I blotted out what I could with dry towel.
I left the car window down over night.
Next day it still smelled horrible.... (average temp 70-90F) the past couple of days.
The following day I take some extra strength fabric soap with warm water.... washed, scrubbed and vacumed out as much of the dried up liquid as possible.
(poured almost 1/2 gal water/soap into the seat)
any tips?
Buy some of that Armor All Carpet shampoo, that stuff works really well.
Just spray it on your seats, let it soak in for a bit (DONT LET IT DRY) then rub a damp warm towel over it. Works good.

I'm not sure if you'll ever get the smell out without having the source (the spill) being clean.
I was at Hirshfields (paint store) the other day and I saw this tub of stuff that is supposed to soak up stink. I normally wouldn't think twice about this kind of gimmick, but for some reason I wanted to try it. I didn't buy it, but you should, and then tell me if it worked.

BTW it was not on the carpet... it was in the passenger seat.
I went to target, automotive department and just grab regular Prestone fabric cleaner/odor eliminator... spray foam with plastic brush....
Worked well.
95% odor gone... much better than before.

This is honestly worth a shot. I accidently ran over my dog along time ago and then threw the dog in the back seat of my jeep and he got blood all over the seat. I was told by a auto detailer the only thing to get that stain and odor out was hydrogen peroxide. I used it and worked greatly. did not change color of interior or anything.
It has to be worth a shot to try it on the fish smell, anything is better than fish.

dump you girlfriend??? oh sorry didnt read the top I had some nasty funk in my car from delivering asian food way back when and the only way to get it out was to rent a steam cleaner and keep open boxes of baking soda under my seats.

I have a white German Shepherd and he was chasing me down the street and then a car past us and it freaked him out and he just ran up under my moving jeep.
it was crazy, but he is alive and well.
Kinda a freak accident
