Default Brake piston compression

Hey,
I'm trying to change the front brake pads on my 93 civic ex and I'm having trouble compressing the brake piston. The manual says to use a C-clamp to do it but I can't seem to get it to work. Any suggestions?

it may be seized. you would need a new caliper. you could try takin a small screwdriver and puilling up the boot and spray some wd-40 in there. but it will only be a temperary fix

put your old pad back in use that to clamp against the other thing you can try is opening the bleeder but this will puss fluid out and you will need to rebleed the system. If you still cant get it to move you might need a to get aa reman caliper

Have you opened the bleeder valve? Have you taken the cap off the master cylinder reservoir off? Try doing that.

Remanufactured calipers are like $40 each anyways.

Incorrect. Try $80 - $100 or more depending on the application.

Well, i don't know where you guys go, but here at CarQuest, they're $44 a caliper + $50 deposit (CAD!!) for remanufactured calipers (new pistons, seals and sand blasted). And that was for my 94 Del Sol VTEC which has bigger calipers i believe which are kinda rare i guess.
