Default help me plz! i searched

hi every1! i have a 96 honda civic lx. i did some research and not really found anything. i know they have the installation kit for it but i don't have the stock plugs or the oem radio. So how do you install aftermarket cd player when you don't have the old radio and prevent the cd player reset everytime you turn the car off?

so you are saying that someone cut off the oem radio plug and all that's left is a loose bunch of colored wires? if so, 2 fixes. the easiest is to stop by some stereo shops to see if they have the missing oem plug. if so, just match up the wire colors and then buy the normal wiring harness for a plug-and-play install. now the second choice consists of getting an aftermarket reverse plug that resembles the original. since this item does not have the matching colored wires, you will need to find another car like yours and open up the dash.

thank you Cb7.v2! yeah like what's u said, I got the car as there is no oem plug and there is no radio. i tried to hook the aftermaket cd player up. everything work fine except for whenever i turn off the car it'll automatic reset the cd player. i know about the yellow wire but i can't connect it because the car will horn like crazy. so i guess my only choice is to get the oem plugs? hope there is another solution(could u tell me more about the other choice Cb7.v2? thank you)

That made me LOL...

They probably cut the alarm plug when they removed the factory radio...

You're using the wrong wires... Get a meter and start testing...

There should be two distinct bunches of wires... One is the radio harness and one is the security harness...

As stated above, if they cut the radio harness and the security harness, there should be 2 groups of wires. The only way you're going to make the horn blow is if you're using the horn trigger in the security harness.

With that said, if the horn blows, then you're using the wrong wire.
