Default wiring harness from b18b to b18c

I'm swapping out my b18b motor to a b18c5 and was wondering if the ls wiring harness can be used with the type r ecu? I don't want to take the entire wiring harness out if I don't have to. I've heard that all you need to do is pin some wires from the ecu for the vtec solonoid and the knock sensor. Any help is appreciated.

Take a look at rywire.com and they will have the additional wires you need to add vtec to your ls wiring so that you don't have to hack up your harness. They make it plug and play...so simple.
