Default question about 91 accord head replacement

Im replacing the head on my 91 accord and I keep hearing that a new water pump and timing belt are also things that come along with replacing the head. My question is how necessary is it to replace the timing belt and water pump, and what are the consequences if you dont or do it at a later time? thanks in advance

consequences? If your belt breaks it could bend some valves it happed to my brothers f22, after putting it all back together with a new belt it ticked really loud, a few weeks later there was a boom and it died! Im not sure its possible to change the pump without pulling the engine! it looks like a really tight squeeze!!! I just had both changed for piece of mind since the engine was out anyway! late!
