Default Is FatMat still in business??

I ordered a roll of the Rattle Trap sound insulation from the FatMat website on Thursday, 14 June, with an e-mailed order confirmation with reference number sent immediately afterwards, UPS Ground shipping. The charge went onto my account the following Tuesday, 19 June. I have not received anything saying it's been shipped or with tracking numbers. I e-mailed last week and haven't heard a response, and I tried calling them today and it just rings 4 times and says mailbox full.

What is the deal here?? I know people on here have used this stuff before and actually recommended it to me. I hope this isn't turning into a scam

I ordered some from them a year or maybe a year and a half ago and from what I remember, it took them about 3 weeks to get the stuff to my door.

oh great, now the phone number says it's not in service anymore

looks like I'll be calling my bank to get those charges removed and I'll have to find another product to put in my car.

Lame.

I'd recommend raamat for price etc. It's what I plan on getting for the next car.

Go here for a comparison of most of the different kinds.

I dunno, I looked up FatMat on eBay, and it looks like there's only one distributor selling them. Not sure if they are actually the same company as FatMat, but I looked in their feedback and TONS of people left negative feedback saying the shipping was extremely slow, with absolutely no communication.

I guess I'll give it at least another week before I try to cancel the charges. I'm almost wishing I had gone through eBay, so then at least I could open an eBay dispute. My debit card is supposed to have the same fraud protection as a Visa credit card, so hopefully it won't be too big of a deal to get the charges removed, should I have to go down that route.

UPS wouldn't take this long, so I assume it hasn't shipped out yet. If it hasn't shipped out, they should have charged my account already (which they did on Tuesday of last week).

Week 3, still no FatMat

I just looked at my bank statement again, and on the line where it lists my FatMat charge, next to the company name it lists a phone number: 814-725-1681 *cha-ching* 814 is in fact the area code for the area in PA where the company is located. So that's another number besides the 866 number listed on their website.

I will give that number a try on Monday. If no luck, then I'll be calling the bank.

Filed a transaction dispute with my bank, and also filed a complaint with the BBB. I noticed that there have been 8 delivery complaints in the last 36 months, 6 of which had been resolved in the past 12 months.

There were more phone numbers listed there, all of which had been disconnected, except 1 which was to a different business altogether. The lady there also said someone else called yesterday trying to reach FatMat. *roll eyes*

Well if it's not one thing it's another. My bank did in fact deposit the amount of the FatMat transaction back into my account yesterday. Then yesterday evening I got an e-mail from FatMat saying their phones and internet had been down, I guess for a month and they're just now back up with a new number. *roll eyes* Well I called them and told them to just cancel the order anyway.

So I went ahead and ordered 100 s.f. of the eDead v1SE^2, which with forum discount, came out cheaper than the FatMat Rattle Trap stuff. Website said it was in stock, but today I get an e-mail saying it's backorderd, and because they import it and it has to go thru customs, it could be 3-5 weeks WTF I need this stuff to be installed in my car before our honeymoon trip on August 19th!

So the dude offered to send me 150 s.f. of the original eDead (45 mils instead of 60 mils) for the same price, so I went ahead and did that, should ship out today. I guess I can add more later if I need to.
