My 94 Civic LX hasn’t been starting lately. I’ve tried to jump it and replaced the starter. Nothing. It push-starts just fine though. The day that I replaced the starter I was driving to work (after push starting it) and this little key chain looking thing falls out of my dash and lands on my feet. It looks like it would plug into a motherboard or something. The button looks like it is suppose to activate a LED light on the top so you can see where you’re plugging the part into. The US Patent number is 4303966.



Any ideas what this is for?

 

looks like those factory security systems...there should be a spot under ur dash that plugs up to..pretty much like a kill switch

 

It's for a lock-tronics security system. It is the key card required to allow the ignition to be activated.
