My BOO switch is killing me!
I have a viper alarm system installed (By Tweeter, Inc.) and I think its the problem. Used to be that when I put the car into drive the doors would lock automatically, the system would beep and I would be on my merry way. Now if all that happens at all its 3 to 5 minutes later driving down the road. It just makes me rather uneasy that the car doesn't "know" I'm in drive until I'm already on the highway. Also I have to bypass the BOO switch with the override button to get the car in gear. That is a pain! Anybody have any ideas? Thanks,
Patrick

They're already shut down here in San Diego. They completely stopped taking any installations. I can't say I feel sorry for them because they were shady as fluck. All their installations sucked donkey nuts and we'd end up R&R'ing their crap. I guess lifetime warranty means lifetime of the business.

Lifetime warranty has never really meant your lifetime.
Usually even if a product is discontinued the lifetime of the product has reached an end and warranties will no longer be honored by the manufacturer. Which is one reason I dont buy DEI. They have built in obsolesence built into their products.

FYI: A BOO switch is a Brake On/Off switch. It's what allows you to switch from park into drive while stepping on the brake. I step on my brake and the pin doesn't disengage so I have to take off the plastic piece around the shifter to push the override button so I can shift out of park.
Maybe if you had called the "BOO" switch by it's proper name, the shifter interlock switch, you might have gotten a good answer....
Anyway, the interlock switch has nothing to do with your alarm or its install...

so does every car manufacturer and computer maker out there and will always be that way...cuz of the MONEY!!!!
we can put a man on the moon and we have a ****** flying space station that orbits the Earth but Cadillac can't can't make a car where the ****** bumper doesn't fall the *** off. There's no money without planned obsolesence...if there was...we would've all had 60 GB Ipods before there was even a 1GB unit....catch my drift? most companies are well satisfied with staying JUST ahead of the curve so that next year when their competitors come out with something better and charge more for it...they can make something just a LITTLE bit better and charge more for it so the following year they can do it all over againand charge more again. it's all about that jing!
oh and about Tweeters being shady...i disagree.
i worked for them for over 3 years and it was a pretty good company to work for...pretty good bennies and time off...so don't slam the entire company for an incompetent installer.
i also believe that DEI has some of the best tech support out there.
