Mine isn't that bad. It has only popped out once on me and i've had it for about six months now.

i dont even drive with the air conditioner on anymore. i always feel like i'm gonna stall getting out of first when it's on.

A long while back there was a problem with the 3rd gear synchro's in the rsx. There sadly wasnt a recall but there was a huge *** petition on clubrsx for it. It's your 3rd maybe 2nd gear synchro that's going out. Warranty will cover it, if you still fall under it.

I had mine replaced, but they gave me the 3rd degree about it, saying that I did something to it or messed with the tranny. But all was good when they inspected and they replaced it for free.

My 02 RSX-S pops out of reverse every once in a while but i dont see why your AC would have anytihng to do with this problem good luck

Wow.

I never knew this problem had actually persisted with others.

Neighbors have the same problem....at first we thought it was because the previous owner had beat up the car...but this problem became more and more frequent.

My '05 does it from a great while to while. It's BS that Acura didn't do anything about this.

same here, but i can 'feel' if it hasnt gone into gear completely and i just push it out of gear to avoid it. it was probably a hidden recall that they only took care of if it was brought up while under warranty.

yeah i had my 3rd gear synchros replaced under warrenty.. haven't had problems since then again i had them replaced 4-5 months ago. I think 3rd and 5th and reverse tie in together but i can't remember don't quote me on that.

yes it blows, i grind in my 3rd gear. i heard and read on H-T that the new honda manual trany fluid is suppose to help it out a little bit, or the new GM syncrotech fluid.

When I went to Acura they said when I get my 30K service they will replace the fluid and it should help. We will see.

so, i like the feed back my thread got! makes me feel not so bad about my 06 Type S! but what the hell, my car started doing this 3rd gear bullshit at around 10000 miles, had it brand new, never raced or abuse my car!!! then a new tranny was put in under warranty, and well the problem was gone until this past 10000 miles(got 28000 miles now,so since 18000) of popping out occasionaly and feeling really notchy. all other gears are flawless!!!! however, at rpms above 5000 my third gear shifts very smooth. any relation of problems u have had? any resolutions?(conclusion to the problem) much appreciated, thanks
