Injector resistor box
I'd imagine if you ran obd1, and used obd1 injectors then you wouldn't need a resistor box. I'd find it easier to get the box and not worry about it.
only if you run your OBD 0 injectors will you need your resistor box. If you run OBD 1 injectors you don't need it, though you'll have to make sure your yel/blk wires from the injectors (OBD1) still meet up with the main relay or it will never start.
yea you need one.
its funny how everyone said you dont need one with obd1 and obd1 cars are already mpfi.
oviessly if he's converting a car to mpfi, its gonna be in the renge of 88-91

you only need one if your injectors are low impendance which they are on 88-91 stock (as well as some OBD 1 cars!) Most oBD 1 injectors are high impendance and don't need a resistor box, if your not sure which injector you have just check the ohms (resistance) the OBD 0 should be around 2.5 ohms or so and the OBD 1 are around 12-14. it's that simple.
One reason he might not want the resistor box is too clean up the engine bay, that's why I chucked my box

That says nothing at all. B16s came with both depending on application and year

For OBD0 computers, you NEED the resistor box if you are running MPFI. It's that easy.
OBD1 ecus don't need the resistor box. You can run obd1-2 injectors on OBD0 ecu, it won't run the greatest, but you can't run OBD0 injectors on OBD1-2 ECUs, you will burn the MPFI system.

this is not true, it doesnt matter which computer you use(obd0 or obd1) If you have a resistor box use obd0 injectors, if no box use obd1/2 injectors. Right now I am swapped to obd1 and still using the resistor box so I can still use obdo injectors. Or if you are obdo you can use obd1 injectors if you remove the box and solder the wires together

x2, your ECU does not matter. Low resistance injectors need resistor box (88-91 and some 92-95) high resistance does not need a resistor box (92-up). If you run OBD 0 injectors on ANY ecu w/o the resistor box you will burn up the ECU 100% guaranteed

well that's one for the chemical engineers and rocket scientists to debate over. I have'nt the time or resources to figure that one out. Either works just fine for what me and a WHOLE lot of other people use them for.......daily driver/weekend warrior, not splitting atoms here.
