Default GSR vs LS Oil Pan

hey guys, I had a Turboed B18b and I just picked up a B18C1

I'm boosted so I have the oil pan tapped. after doing some research I found out that the LS pan will not fit on the GSR, but the GSR will fit on the LS.

I'm positive they will bolt on to one a other, but I'm scared the oil return system is a little different.

I'm just wondering what must be done to put my LS Oil pan on my GSR

thanks

im pretty sure it will starve your engine of oil the sump fits too close to the bottom of the pan = no sumping action. the fix would be to buy a gsr pan. why dont you just use the gsr pan you have it would take all of 30seconds to weld a bung in it.

You would have to remove the block girdle on your Gsr block, to be able to use the more shallow ls pan.
Along with using the other oilpickup.

removed the girdle...

that's exactly the answer I wanted.

so I'll re tap my oil pan.

thanks again.

Did you use the stock ls pick-up still? That would be your pressure problem.

get another return fitting, cut out a hole out on the gsr pan, take it to a muffler shop, and have them weld it up.

why would you do anything else? don't half *** your oil system. you know just as well as i do that this way would work with minimal problems. no offense, but the way you want to do it is questionable. i'd just tap the stock pan for piece of mind.
