i have a vtec question. If my vtech is working properly then i should feel the 1st runner make a smooth pull around 4500 rpms, followed by the loud & noticable 2nd runner at about 5800 rpms... correct?

VTEC kicks in around 4400rpm and the secondary runners open up ~5700rpm
what is your question? it's kind of vague...

just wanted to make sure my vtec is working properly. Obviously, you really can feel the 2nd runner, but not so much the first? correct?

without an aftermarket intake it was almost impossible to hear vtec engage at 4400 and barely audible at 5850 or whatever it is. I have a 94 gsr

That is correct. Cant really feel the 4400 rpm engagement but when the secondaries kick in you can hear it and feel it.

If you take the muffler off, VTEC will be much louder and you will barely be able to hear the secondary runners open up. Also, and aftermarket CAI will make it louder too.

true dat.
my 98 gsr was all stock.
I couldnt feel anything really. maybe my hopes that i felt it haha.
but even tho mod'd u still dont really feel it.

stock box w/ reasontor u hear it barely at 5800.
if u wana hear it at 4400. U gotta drive it at night in a queit neighboorhood with your windows rolled down to even hear the slightest.
dont forget to turn off the radio! cant hear it with it on.

I once drove a 99 GSR at a dealership that had nothing but CAI, and that things was surprising pretty quick, I guess me having like 3x the miles effected it.

I also noticed I heard the secondaries kick in more than the rockers, or maybe it had a hidden vafc in it and VTEC was changed
