I have never had seen smoke come out of MY exhaust while in vtec, but everyone else I know regardless of what their setup is has smoke. So, to me technically I think its normal. Is it a GOOD thing? I have no idea. Maybe someone else who's more educated could explain why this happens.

white smoke usually means head-gasket.
or
I would stop stomping on her and super reving the **** out of it too, it could be rings if its a blueish color

*edited* so people will and stop e-freaking/e-thugging/e-bashing like a bunch of high school punk kidz.

And yes I am sorry for somewhat not providing solid information when I posted. Next time I'll take the time to properly clarify my thoughts.

Ahhh....the notorious VTEC Cloud! I can't speak for everyones, but mine is some extra fuel making it out the exhaust due to running a test pipe. People that run cats are kicking some carbon out of it.....Just a couple thoughts, not guaranteeing nothing else is wrong.

Headgasket, rings, wtf, you're confused here man.

Bluish-white smoke is oil, black smoke is excess gas, sweet-smelling bright white smoke is antifreeze.

When your headgasket is bad you could be burning antifreeze, and getting gas in your coolant system.

When your rings are bad, you could be burning oil left by bad oil rings on the cylinder walls, and you can be getting gas into the oil.

When you have bad valve stem seals, you burn oil due to it dripping down on top of the piston.

When a car smokes a puff after starting or sitting at a stoplight, that is valve stem seals, the oil smoke builds up as you idle and burn it and then puffs out when you take off.

If your car smokes white at high rpm you most likely have a ring problem, as the oil squirters on an h22 coat the cylinder walls well, and bad oil rings leave too much there, that would be the white smoke.

If you have black smoke in vtak, welcome to stock honda ecus, they love tuning them rich.

^^^ sounds like you have it down.

OP: I know that my car smokes when I hit Vtec from being too rich, but I've never been able to see it while I was in the car. It seems like you may have more then your share of smoke.

Have you done the normal tune up stuff?

Assuming your smoke is blackish, your computer is dumping fuel when you hit VTEC, and yes its normal, and its not exactly fun to get entirely rid of, even with tuning, but hey, you wanna play you gotta pay!!! Just wax the back nicely so its easy to get the black off, including your tip, nobody likes a dirty blowhole!

smoke while hitting vtec is normal as it gets.
especially if you have a cat delete or aftertermarket exhaust bigger than 2.25 in.
my friend has a 2.75 and i see a little bit more smoke than stock when in vtec.

but do a leak down test as well.

******** make the world go round. Many of us are ******** because 75% of the people on this forum are retards and it pisses us off when members are so confident in the information they post when it came straight from their ***.

u havent contributed much to this forum so i would keep your mouth shut in case you ever need help in the future.

I didn't mean to mean that both where connected but that they where both possible depending on colour of gas. Either way i just wanted him to stop beating on his prelude FFS!

I only don't like you because your and A$$HOLE. you don't like me because I said some dumb things! whos the person who should pull his head out of his *** just a bit. I know your a genius but that doesn't mean you should get to be an ***! OH and same goes for you NNV. </TD></TR></TABLE>

This isn't a chat forum, quit trying to talk to me!

And its not "big brain" as you say, its big ego. If it was big brain he'd know not to be so narrow minded because thats how primates never evolved and still to this day remain monkeys!

Being smart involves things onther than memorizing lots of knowledge. You could be a genius but not have a shred of commen sence. I happen to be an electrical engineer and a contstruction maintenance technician, and yes I don't know shiet about cars but I'm trying to learn. No offence but all I'm learning from some of you is how to be A$$holes and stuck up ******.

CAN we stop with this chat though in a "TECH" forum please? keep your personal comments out of here and I'll do the same!

So that was your contribution? You guys don't seem to really try to help anybody from what I noticed anyway. All I usually see in this "tech" forum is personal bashing and constant and consistent flaming and now I've been brought down to the same level.

I'm honestly done making personal comments on here. You guys can continue to bash and turn this into a chat forum. I'll reply as I like and provide what I can in a non discriminatory manner as how it should be and as it was requested by moderators. Peace!

having a better command of the language would definitely assist you on your quest for HT acceptance;
just (1)pause & (2) think, and/ or (3)search before asking silly questions or posting silly comments, like the one they're still riding you for;

Stole my thunder......usually I will defend peoples poor spelling. Not everyone here has English as a 1st language......I don't see that as the case here.
Youre always FREE to speak your mind here.......if your mind is wrong, people will surely let you know.
