NO MORE EMISSIONS! :)
hey everyone. in the state of illinois, cars 1995 and below no longer have emissions. that means my prelude doesnt have emissions anymore :D. so i was wondering if theres anything i can do to my car performance or weight wise that i dont ned anymore cuz of no emissions. thanks.
i believe it's the same here in NC......but you still have to pass visual inspection
although most shops don't bother to check.........but if you really wanted to be safe you could gut a cat and weld a test pipe through the cat......so that you still appeared to have emissions equipment

just so you guys know.
A "properly" tuned car without egr and cat. will usually run cleaner then any other car on the road running stock.
I am not saying that this particular kid is going to go out and tune his car and he probably will not see any gains from pulling egr or the evap. BUt if he were to tune it with say hondata he would see alot more gains and his car would probably run cleaner than all the stock cars.

dump the cat, dump the resonator, straight pipe ftw lawl. buy a block off plate and dump the egr system but you must chip your ecu or buy a hondata so you don't get a cell. Not much weight savings. A few pounds at most.

Yeah, since being out of warranty we, I mean I have spent 7k on the ML55 for various things. My wife actually paid 75k for a vehicle that is worth less than 30k today. The ML was built in Alabama. The engine an transmission (AMG) were supposedly built by 1 person. That car is nothing but problems. We have had not 1 issue with the E55. Her brothers have never had a problem with the CLK 430 or E500 4 matic. So, I tend to blame the problems on being made in Alabama!

Want to race the ML 55 AMG (all stock except for the Brabus custom chip) against your ricer? Look up the ML 55's specs and get back to me. How about a $500 bet or even a $1000 bet. Hell, I will put up $1000 against whatever you have. Winnings go to a charity of the winners choice (includes political parties). I am available in mid August.

with any luck out the exhaust! haha
I have the KMS block off plate (15 bucks or something), it basically prevents the exhaust chamber side of the egr from allowing the gases back over to the intake side. It still however has the negative affect (although probably minimal) of heating up the intake manifold. - that is why some people choose to weld shut the port right at the head, rather than do a egr delete with a blanking plate. If the gases have no where to "go" at the egr end - they will go where pressure is lower (isn't that fluid dynamics or something?) and exit the vehicle via normal means (ie: exhaust). atleast that's my take. correct my bs where-ever you feel fit.
also you can see the post I have in conjunction with qveon (mostly his knowledge!) about doing the p13 CEL bypass - with pics!.

ALL MB's are garbage.....just except it. They have horrible reliability issues and some of the worse depreciation out there. See what Consumer Reports has to say about them. It doesn't matter if your E55 hasn't had issues yet, youre lucky.
Sounds like someone needs to learn the value of a dollar........
I guess 96 month payments and 175% of invoice advances were invented for a reason. I've had couples in my dealership........trying to trade out of $20k negative equity with no money down....
So why are you hanging out in a Prelude forum Mr Balla??? Or is it Family Money & you're not liquid?
Your ML55 isn't that fast and Cross Country Call-Outs are as Ricer as Altezzas & 15 decals.-----Quit talking like you have some 12sec Truck that can't turn for ****. It runs similar 0-60 times as a slightly Modded Prelude....Mid 6's---With PRO Driver.
"HU" you lost all credibility with your BS cam info. So just get used to a group of us kicking you like a Lame Donkey. The other option is just NOT posting. You have no worthwhile info to share and have plagued the Prelude world with Bad Info.

Pick your cams according to your pistons compression ratio. Stock cr will not work well with Jun or especially Skunk 2. If you are keeping a stock bottom end, go with the type S cams. It sucks that they cost as much as Skunk 2 Pro 2 cams! </TD></TR></TABLE>
So about the emissions........I would wait until you pass emissions then you have 2 years to play.

First, the MB's were paid in cash. My wife owns approx. 500 nail shops across the US. In Ohio, she is in every mall with the name Modern Nails. I did quite well for myself when I worked in China too. Believe it or not, only the ML 55 has had issues.
Why the Prelude forum? I loved the 4th gen prelude from the 1st time I saw it. When I graduated from undergrad, I got a Toyota Supra. It was stolen within 6 months. Only in the US is Honda more popular than toyota for racing. My dad has several vintage cars, including a 64 1/2 mustang which is my fav. Trust me, if it was not for the 4th gen Prelude, I would never own a Honda. I have come to respect jap cars and what they are capable of. I truly mean that. The only thing that bothers me about honda addicts is that they brag how they kill mustangs (or other domestics). The only thing you ricers dont realize is that mod for mod, a mustang will kill you everytime. I/h/e on a honda vs. I/h/e on the mustang = the mustang winning. It must suck to have a motor that sounds like a lawn mower.
The difference between me and some ricer wanting a cross country race is that I have the means to see it through.
BS cam info? You are full of it. I am right. CR is a part of cam selection. Look into it, ricer. You are the ricer if you do not consider the full package. I only lost credibility in peoples eyes who will never build an engine. The difference between your NA prelude and mine is the 300whp I will put down on Jeff Evans Dyno (again unlike most ricers, I have the $$ to see it through). If compression doesnt matter, then run 10 to 1 with some pro 3 cams. See where it gets you. Build the way you want and you will always make less power than me.
p.s. j.a. It must suck to only make 204whp with Jun cams. If you had more compression, you would make a hell of a lot more, but I guess you are one of those that like to learn the hard way.
Looking forward to the ricer reply...
