Default 00 si engine swap??????help!

hi to everyone on ht. and thanks ahead of time for any help you guys give me. my question is this, i have a 2000 civic si with my b16a2 in it. i'm buying a buil b16 head with a b18 block attached to it with the transmission. how much work or better yet how hard would it be for me to swap this set up into my car. i'm good with my mechanic skills but i've never attempted to do a motor swap. i'm getting the motor in a few weeks but i've been doing my research on this for a bit now. what i really want is a step by step engine removal or swap tech. oh and it also comes with an obd1. if i didn't explain myself right i'm sorry but any help or direction to the right way will be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

Performing a swap is pretty difficult if it's your first time. I am sure your capeable of doing this though, but it comes down to a matter of knowing the correct steps in removal of the old engine as well as re installation of the new engine.

The engine you bought should have a b16 block with a b18 head though, but if anything... a complete b series would be the correct choice. I am not much of a fan of switching blocks and heads on engines. Also, you should be OBD II with your ECU as well, not OBD I. Look around for a general step by step thread on an engine swap, I'm sure theres some on Honda-tech.

yea man...if your mechanically inclined it should be a breeze. I did my first motor swap in a day...4 hours to take out the old and about the same for the new. It was me and my dad doing it and were both good when it comes to mechanics. just keep eveything marked to where it goes and make sure you lay it out first how it will go in.... dont slam it in and have to take it back out to adjust stuff.
good luck man.
