h22's in civics don't throw codes, faulty sensors and lack of sensors or poor wiring throws codes.

No, you need an OBD-IIa to OBD-I conversion harness for the ECU if the motor's OBD-I, if it's OBD-II you can just plug it right in (this depends on the year).

It shouldn't throw any codes unless something is wrong.

Take this any way you want, but I'm going to say it anyways:

Pay a shop to get every part you need and install it for you. Leave your keys and your wallet, and walk away.

if you really want to get the full potential of your motor and have the right ecu on your car get a virgin p28 and get it dynotuned.

Goddamnit, no. Listen, and listen well:

YOU NEED THE CORRECT ECU FOR THE MOTOR YOU'RE PUTTING IN.

If you have an OBD1 H22, you need an OBD1 H22 ECU. If it's OBD2A, you need an OBD2A H22 ECU ... etc etc etc.

So get the right ecu for the motor.

nope your car is gonna run like ****. trust me i had an eg with a h22 and no stock computer runs right exept the p13 wich is the stock h22 ecu. i was running a p08 with a type r chip. it was a really good chip, i sold the ecu to my boy and he's running it on his h22 and that **** is FAST.

But im telling you, the best way to go is with this:
1) obdII to obdI jumper
2) an obdI p28 virgin ecu
3) and finally, dynotune that matha

Dude, a civic HB 96-98 ecu will not friggin work with the H22 motor properly...

What is wrong with you?

You need an H22 ecu to run it right.. or at least a slap in the face to take the advice we are giving you. Are you on drugs? Read the previous posts from the other members..

That shop is retarted and you should never go there again.

Most h22 civics on stock motors run 13's and mid 12's with stock untuned ecus.

(What the HELL are you going to tune on a stock motor?)
