Default made my first 10 second pass today then blew my tranny haha

well today was a great day for me. i finally got a chance to run my car on full boost(26psi), its been in the making for the last 2 years.

i ran the car earlier this week on wednesday on pump gas lower boost and an 8k rpm rev limit just to get some seat time in the car. best pass was an 11.9@114, this was at around 16psi running out of 4th gear and forced to shift to fifth. i was expecting a higher trap so i was a little skeptical of what the car was gonna do today on higher boost and higher rev limit. we put the car back on the dyno last night with race gas to retune on the higher boost with the new manifold im running.

we set out early this morning to lebenon valley dragway again. first pass down the track 10.9@142mph. i was going pretty crazy in the car when i got the slip haha. i was even more impressed with the trap speed. the car definately has potential for a lot more, i was running without two step or anti lag, no staged boost, and my open diff spare tranny is in there. ive got the slip in the car but heres a rundown:

60 foot-----1.8
1/8 ET------7.3
1/8 MPH----107
1/4 ET------10.9
1/4 MPH----142

second pass i did a sweet smokey 3rd gear burnout, the only part of the day we got on video tape unfortunately. i staged up at the line, prepared to launch and bam car doesnt go anywhere. real disappointed to find out it wasnt an axle. oh well i gotta get my other tranny back together and in the car.

this was my daily driver until this morning lol.

ive got a lot of changes to make now. already got a new bosch 044 to put in there with a sumped tank. gonna make a bit more power as if i needed it. and i guess i should prep the car for that 135mph+ requirements, ie 10pt vs 6 pt, catch pan, electrical cut off, scatter sheild, firesuit......9 sec license.

btw, what was your 330'? With a little more work bringing down your 60ft you should be able to bring your et a little lower.

ok heres the complete slip info

reaction----0.406
60 foot-----1.866
330 foot----5.070
1/8 ET------7.362
1/8 MPH----107.55
1000ft------9.310
1/4 ET------10.903
1/4 MPH----142.15

first half of the track leaves a lot to be desired, it has 3-4 tenths of a second that could be improved. if i had more than one pass i think i would have done a little better. ive cut 1.6's on these slicks in my buddies car. i was also down to 7.0 in the 1/8th in his car, which has 100whp less. i think i can match that and put me somewhere in the 10.5-10.6 area with more track time.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by RIP V8s &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">set up? congrats</TD></TR></TABLE>

basic rundown of the setup:

-made 588whp at 26psi on the dyno last night after about 15 heat soaked pulls
-laskey racing built short block, benson sleeved gsr 84mm bore, pauter rods, cp pistons
-applied flow headwork, ferrea valves, crower springs/retainers, gsr cams, revving to 9500 and power was still going up.
-gt35r .82 hot side running at 26psi, synapse ramhorn manifold and 3" downpipe, 2.75" charge piping
-b16 tranny open diff
-m&h 24.5x8.5x15 inch slicks on rota 15x7 slips
-walbro 255 1000cc injectors stock fuel pressure not hotwired(already have a bosch 044 ready to go in so i didnt really try to get more out of it)
-aem ems, aem twin fire, honda cbr 929 coil sticks, tony 1 cam trigger

i really only expect to run some mid 10 second passes on the 35r, is anybody running 9s on this turbo?

keep in mind this is a street setup, no wheelie bars, no drag suspension, full interior.

i dont plan on running much longer if at all on the crower stuff. i know i took my chances running the crower stuff that hard, supertech stuff will be here soon.

i would love to make a lot of these events, im not sure when the car will be ready to run again, i have to make it 135+ legal now.

i dont think anybody has gone 9's on it that i know of. i was close with numerous 10.0's on a .63 t3. 9's is totally possible though.

9's is a long ways away. i doubt ill do it on this turbo. but ive been tossing the idea of a 42r around, maybe over the winter.

i havent pulled the tranny out yet. im pretty sure its the diff though. ill probly pick up a diff and put it back together as a spare if possible.

i already have a quaife in my other tranny. i just pulled it out to freshen it up. it was having trouble going into first and second gear. gonna put some new parts in there, and get it back in the car.
