Default Dual Voice Coil sub question

I have a DVC sub, but i have a mono amp. My question is how to take advantage of this feature without buying a new amp? I have made an ms paint diagram below.

Would that be an efffective and Beneficial "loop" connecting the additional input on the box? Or should i just leave it alone without that loop?

Since we're not mind readers around here, you might start by telling us make & model of the sub and the amp.....

"Beneficial loop" WTF? We can't answer that question without knowing exactly what those terminals attach to inside the box.

Again. We're not mind readers...

Wiring it like that will give you 600 wrms into the sub, which i heard type-r's can handle fine.

No.

We have no way of knowing how that sub is wired inside the box. The diagram shows wiring to the terminals on the sub, not the box.

oh i see what you mean. Ill take the sub out and verify the subs wiring to the terminals and then wire it to the diagram.

You will not need to remove the sub, Alpine wires each VC to one set of the terminal, treat each set of terminals as a VC and wire them in parallel, it looks like there is a set of paralleling jumpers on the terminals already, so yes, you can wire it that way, [pix] as long as there is no connection between the two terminals with no drawing of wire going to them. or you can just connect to the upper or lower set 94

Didn't realize that was a preloaded Alpine box.

cool, thats how i have it as of now. I am at work so i planned on working on it when i get home. I have the bottom set of connections connected. It sounds good, but i didnt know if I was only using 1 voice coil. I wanted to take advantage of both.

Both VCs have to be connected, so make sure jumpers are in place. 94

Not like your OP, what you show is one VC wired to amp and the other VCs pos.(+) and neg.(-) connected together with a jumper. 94

Oh ok... so this is the case

1 2

3 4

I am connecting terminal 2 and 3 to the amp, and 1 and 4 with a jumper?
