Default Assembly help

hey, im planning on installing skunk2 full coilover kit for my em1, im just wondering about how long will this take me, what kind of tools i need, and is there a high chance of ruining something trying to install it myself?

it's pretty straight forward. just dont get hit in the face by a flying spring. that'll ruin your day.

well i got new shocks and coilover with springs, so i wont have to mess with taking off the spring off the old shocks. about how many bolts are there per shock, not including taking off the wheel

unless your coilovers came preassembled you'll need to reuse a few parts off the old shock/spring combo

it depends on how good you are with cars. If all you have to do is remove the old suspension and bolt the new stuff right in, I could finish it in an hour. If its your first time though I would give it 2 to 2.5 hours.

17mm socket, 14mm socket, the stuff to remove the wheels. Thats all I can remeber that might be it. If you have to undo the lower ball joint then you will need some pliers cotter pin and a hammer. Usually you can get it in with out that though.

okay, ive been asking around and everyone says the bolts might have bee siezed up in the back.

well the pervious owner lowered my car before he sold it to the dealership. and before i bought it, the dealership removed the springs at put stock springs back on, does that mean that their not siezed anymore. FYI: i bought the car like 3 months ago.

Some WD40 or PB-blaster would solve that problem. Just be careful not to snap any of the rusted/siezed bolts.

As much as you can without breaking anything will be fine.

Yo just jump right in and turn some wrenches. When it comes to those suspension bolts I just tighten them to feel. (just give those bolts a good turn)

Check this DIY out:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2012076

It's for 2001-2005 Civics but u can apply the same idea.

After you're done make sure u get an alignment and set the toe to zero. Depending on how low the car is going to be, u might need a camber kit.

Im probably gonna use that DIY myself, to put in my tokico illuminas and skunk2 coilovers....

Just take your time and be safe (support the car properly).
