Default Curbed my rim

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I curbed one of my Mugen MF-10 rims while going around a turn. Its a strange turn because I swear I had cleared the corner but the right rear rim hit the curb. It looks like someone had taken a bite out of it.

There is a 4 inch long strip with jagged edges at the out edge of the rim where it meets the sidewall of the tire. Will I still be able to get another tire mounted without problems? Or is this rim pretty much done?

A lot of places won't mount a tire on a damaged rim for liability reasons.

I think you will have to get a new rim myself.

You might be able to take it to a rim repair place... sucks that it had to be a MF-10

Craig - Who hopes to have a set of MF10's one of these years...

Those Momo's were cast rims.

Mugens are forged - different story altogether

Dang that sucks. Know anyone selling just one bronze MF-10 w/+50 offset?
Maybe I'll just buy from King again if no one has a single to sell.
Its a good thing that I have another set of wheels.

I think I know why I hit the curb. I was looking at all the corners around town and they are all curved (rounded off at the corner) I think the particular one that I hit was had a square corner. I took it like all the other corners around town and bam. One good rim down the drain. At least I can say I'm the one to blame. I'd rather wreck my own stuff than have someone else have the fun.

Ahhh.. I'm running my stock wheels now.. Yesterday, I ran over a huge *** nail. About 5 inches long and a 3/4 cm in diameter. Guess which wheel it was?
Yup.. Something has it in for that wheel.. I'm not sure if the inside of the wheel was gouged up by the nail.

I also found a wheel repair shop 20 miles from my place. I was looking at pictures of damaged and the repaired wheel. It was quite amazing. A whole chunk was missing from the rim and after it was repaired it was just like new. Of course, I'll believe it after I see it for myself.
