Ecu upgrade for the r question (hondata)
I have a 97 R and looking to go obd 2 to obd1 with a p28 and hondata s100. Is there anything else I need to change to make it work? Also is there some good gains to be made with some minor mods.
i got it chipped from DNR.
but its just like hondata in a way. if you got a laptop to hook it up to then you can do the tuning yourself.
Hondata is just the more expensive means of doing it. but it does got all the cooler features.

OBD2A-OBD1 jumper harness. Also, if you only have minor mods such as I/H/E, don't expect a significant gain with the hondata/EMS of choice. You will see some gain, especially if it is leaned out a bit, but yeah well this goes into an area of debate. Just for a reliable setup, don't expect a lot from hondata with just I/H/E.

Minor mods just stick with your stock ITR ECU. its perfectly fine

I disagree, you will see significant gains just with I/H/E with Hondata, esp in the midrange.
My car with I/H/E vs I/H/E w/Hondata S100 tune.
